Yi Wang was educated in China and Japan. She holds the M.Sc and Ph.D. in Hydrology for Environmental Engineering from Ehime University, during which she studied the sustainable water resource management and water related hazard analysis using hydrological and ecological models aided by remote sensing technique and geographical information system.
Since joining UNU in 2007, Dr. Yi has focus her research on numerical modeling of hydrological process and its applications in forest catchment hydrology, flooding forecast, land slide analysis, and water resource assessment considering land use and climate change impact. She also collaborates with various stakeholders in organizing international workshops and conferences for Climate and Ecosystems Adaptation Research (UN-CECAR).
